This is a picture of the stations of the cross that is at a convent in downtown Chicago that I went to this summer during Youth Nexus when I was on staff. My favorite professor lead us through this 70 minute session. His name is John Weborg. He is unbelievable. He suffered polio as a child, was to be paralized, but didn't let that stop him. He walks with a cane to this day at around age 65 I would guess. (many would think he is much older than he actually is...he looks like he could be 75 to some). As Dr. Weborg walks, he walks with a limp, a hunch, and you are always concerned that he might trip as he is scrunching up his cute glasses and says just about the 20th most profound thing you have ever heard....(mind you that #1 - 19 also came from Dr. Weborg). He was determined to walk the whole thing, even though we could easily see he was worn out and hurting. His point...that this suffering that Jesus went through was so emmense compared to the small physical struggles we go though, as as we are feeling pain in our feet and backs and all during this short time, it is a time of a reminder of all Christ went through for us on this Holy Week.
This week is going to be reflections of Holy Week. Interesting, huh? But this is also accountability to myself to be in constant reflection and prayer of my Jesus. OK, there it is.
